Sri Lankan New Year Festivals in Queensland – April 2026

The Sri Lankan community across Queensland will come together this April to celebrate the traditional Sinhala and Tamil New Year (Avurudu) through a series of vibrant cultural festivals.

Several community organisations are hosting events across the state, offering an opportunity for families and friends to experience Sri Lankan traditions, food, music, and games.
